“Polly Wanna Cracker???”
Chances are you have probably heard this famous question before. If you have, then you will know that this little inquiry does not come from a human being. Instead it comes from a talking bird. Of course, we know them best by their common name: parrots.
Through their amazing ability to mimic human sounds and consequently “talk,” these tropical birds have become prevalent in popular culture. For example, the sidekick of the villain in the Disney movie “Aladdin” is a parrot. Every children’s story about pirates involve some sort of parrot hanging on the shoulder of the protagonist seaman.
While popular culture has most certainly played up the unique ability of these animals to “talk,” these creatures are still amazing and awe inspiring to see in real life. They can often have beautifully colored feathers, just like many of their tropical bird relatives.
The talking attribute as well as the allure of a tropical aura eschewed from the feathers of this animal make parrots a desirable bird to own in your house. Owning a parrot can most certainly be a rewarding and fun experience. However, there is some training and care expertise required.
I know this because I have now owned two parrots and have enjoyed the experience of learning how to take care of them. I will admit that becoming in the know for parrot care was not an easy feat. When I got my first parrot, there were definitely a ton of things that I didn’t know.
I did a lot of research to find out the answers to some of the questions I had about parrot care but found myself totally overwhelmed by all of the options that were available to me. It seemed like I was drowning in differing opinions and advice that seemed to be unfounded in actual experience.
However, there was one thing that I came across that made sense of all of the madness. I was utterly lost until I came across the Parrot Care Guide. This little e-book illuminated all things that once held me in the dark. It gave me the confidence and knowledge that I needed to be able to properly care for a parrot. If you are looking for some answers or a fool proof method for raising parrots, then this guide should be on your list of things to get. In this article, I’m going to go over some of the great things that you have to look forward to learning if you get this guide. Keep reading for all of the important information!
My Parrot Story
Of course, a review of this book would be incomplete with a little bit of background information on how I got involved in the whole parrot owning thing. This information will hopefully help you understand that I’m no different than you are when it comes to owning a bird. I’m just a regular guy who wanted to own a parrot. The guide made it possible for me to do so, and it can for you, too.
I’ve always been a bird person. Even when I was eight years old, I asked for an Audubon Society guide to identifying birds in my area. Throughout high school, I was an avid amateur ornithologist and had a couple of parakeets.
I had always been fascinated with parrots for their social nature and brilliant colors. I considered them (and still do) to be quite remarkable creatures. So, when I went to the pet store to browse for birds for sale and saw that they had some parrots for sale, I had an undeniable urge to get one. And I did.
Obviously, this impulse buy might not have been the best idea as I was still unaware of many of the ins and outs about owning a parrot. This unpreparedness began to manifest itself early into my owning of my first parrot, Larry.
A few weeks after owning Larry, I notice that he had developed some bad habits. Additionally, I was having a hard time figuring out how to bond with him and teach him tricks. I was concerned because I had no idea what I was doing incorrectly. I wanted to figure out the problem and what my errors were so that I could move forward with caring for and bonding with Larry.
I looked all over for answers, but was immediately overrun by a monsoon of advice. Thankfully, the Parrot Care Guide came just in the nick of time for me. Through reading this guide, I was able to learn and spot out certain things like:
- Which kinds of parrots require certain methods of care (for example, african grey, indian ringneck, quaker parrot, amazon parrot, etc.)
- What bird cages you should get for your exotic birds
- How to clean and maintain your parrot cage
- Which type of this bird is actually a talking parrot
I learned so much more than what I just listed, and I’ll go more in depth in the review of this great guide. What you need to know right now is that this is the definitive guide for parrot care.
My Review of the Parrot Care Guide
In a world where many guides can oftentimes be misleading, this guide stands as a beacon of light in the darkness. Even now after owning two parrots, I find myself coming back to this guide time and again for the right advice.
Among other things, some facts I learned right off the bat about these parrot birds astounded me, such as:
- Many parrots live to be twenty five to thirty years old if they are healthy
- Parrots require a large time commitment because they are interactive, social creatures
- There are 354 parrot types
One of the things that I really appreciate about this great handbook is that I could understand everything very easily. This guide uses very straightforward language that is easy to follow. Anything that might possibly confusing is broken down into its simplest constituents for your reading and comprehending pleasure.
This guide is also incredibly affordable. I was prepared to dole out a large hunk of cash to purchase this guide when I discovered it (and believe me it would have been worth it) but was SHOCKED to find out how cheap it was.
There is literally nothing you have to lose by getting this guide, so you might as well do it!
If you have ever thought about getting a parrot (or if you have one already), you should get this guide so that you can get a good feel for what it is like to care for a parrot on your own.
This guide was a life saver very early on in my parrot owning experience. Make sure that you hop on board with this book earlier than later so that you can be prepared for owning a parrot!
